Such great sushi! A little difficult to navigate into the actual restaurant, but well worth it. It's one of the nicest parts of a visit to the coast because the sushi is fresh and very well made. It's very flavorful and the selection is terrific.
Great service and great food. Loved the generous amount of fish in the sushi, teriyaki chicken was delicious. We will be back.
I go to this great restaurant a lot! This is my favorite restaurant to to have a good dinner. I go there many times. The food is very tasty, the staff is professional and the charge is good. I enjoy going in this place for a nice lunch.
Great food, fast service, reasonable prices
Great food, service and smiles.
Best sushi in town. Taka is a great chef and owner. The waitresses are so friendly. Great beer selection. Fish is always fresh and yummy. They have great deals for salmon and it's local!
The service is always quick, lovely character, super friendly employees. I will return here again when I get in the area.
Good family place for Japanese cuisine. Good sushi too!
This spot gives first-rate service as well as delightful food. One of my favourite places in the city. The drinks and food arrived quickly and the prices are reasonable. Recommended.
Nice restaurant for a fast and decent dinner. No less, no more.
I really enjoy the salmon skin salad. At 9.25, it’s a steal. One time it came with a load of avocado on top. Thank you!!Wow, I’m here again but today I have a different server and woa how different. I really did ask for a green tea twenty minutes ago. The became by and asked me, did you want tea? And then he was bidding and waiting on new people and I played two more games of sudoku.
Excellent. Service was great! Sushi was fresh and well done. Very happy. Dinner was just under $40 for the two of us. Well worth it and highly recommend!
Excellent lunch service! Sushi was good and the veggie tempura was tasty. Our server was really nice and kept us warm with hot tea the whole time which was much needed on a rainy weekend.
I love the service and the smiles that I get walking through the door. I love their sushi but their Chinese food leaves less to be desired. I was kind of disappointed with their fried rice and teriyaki chicken.but, everything else is wonderful enough to only demote it by one star out of five for me.
I eat in this spot a lot since I work close by. I like how the service is always awesome and they keep the spot well organized regularly. Rates are reasonable and they serve large portions.
Food was good but watch your bill. Didn't see but after we left our bill was charged 40% tip.
Great place for Japanese food. Good prices and a quiet restful patio room full of greenery. We have eaten here many times and it is consistently good. Great service too.
We arrived at this spot for lunch. This spot was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was a winning. The staff members welcomed us with a smile and we had a great feeling. The meal was delicious. We had a great time and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Warmly recommended.
Seriously the worst customer service ever! We waited 10 minutes to be sat, another 10 to take our order and about 20 minutes for food. 3 other tables in the restaurant only. Clearly one waitress can’t handle the entire restaurant. Customers were walking up front to check out because the waitress never came back! Our appetizer came out after our food was done and she gave it to us for free. If you have free time to spare and don’t mind waiting around forever this is the place! 😂
Very yummy food and awesome customer service. The staff was so nice and even made my son a cheater for his chopsticks! Lol we will definitely be back soon!!
We were looking forward to sushi on the coast. We were first ones in the door at dinnertime on a Tuesday. First clue we should have been concerned about, it smelled like burning deep-fried oil. Second, we don't enjoy restaurants with flies buzzing around our heads in doors. No one else was there, and our two basic sushi rolls took about 35 minutes from order to table. If there were a view of the ocean, we might not have cared. But there is no view of much except the highway. The soft-shell crab that topped my wife's California roll was not just crisp. It was burnt black. We mentioned this to the server and pretty much got a blank stare. After saying, "I"ll show the cook," we got no apologies, no offer to replace the roll, and no discount. So guess what? No return for us or anyone who asks us about our experience.
Tried this place on our first trip ever to Fort Bragg in December and couldn't wait to go back. The staff was so friendly and helpful even though we arrived 30 min before closing. They made my bites exactly how I love them by my request! I tried Uni for the first time. We all had fun with that. Thank you very much!
Food was kinda meh, tea was cold, and miso soup tasted like it came out of a package. Table was also dirty when we sat down.
I used to eat here once-a-week. Their ramen is excellent, hot and flavorful. I usually substitute chicken for the pork, and they fry the chicken breast first, which gives it a nice char flavor. The hamachi I could eat three meals a day: like budda! My favorites are the salmon skin roll, the hamachi nigiri, and the ramen, but others tell me that everything else is superb.
Always a great experience! Attentive staff, amazing sushi, great environment. I would eat here every day if I could!
Went here one evening on our trip to Oregon. There was a large party that had showed up just before us, so service was slow but it was understandable given the circumstances. The staff was very apologetic and did the absolute best they could. They were out of the yellow belly, but they had albacore so I had that instead. I also ordered a chicken dish, and it was slightly overcooked but again, I blame the large group of 18 that beat us there. Everything else was delicious and I think had we been there an hour earlier the food would have been cooked properly. I thought the prices were fair and the sushi we bought was fresh and flavorful (my albacore melted in my mouth liked butter). I would definitely go back if I'm in the area again, and would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a bite to eat.
One of my absolute favorite restaurants in town hands-down! The best sushi I’ve had in a long time. The price for the soy wraps has gone a little high, but that’s the only way I like mine. Adam mommy is good. He so soup is good. Service is almost always good. And the prices are OK
Mediocre Japanese spot with limited vegetarian options. We got the pan-fried soba noodles. I'm pretty sure they just doused some ramen noodles with brown sauce, threw in a few vegetables, and called it a day. The avocado tofu sushi was also poorly wrapped. But, I feel like other sushi looked better, so it could have just been ours. Overall, not bad, but definitely nothing to write home about. But the service is friendly enough. One thing that did make up for everything, though, was the ice cream next door!
Four rolls, no flavor. I've been enjoying Sushi for 15 years, never had it so bland. We didn't finish one roll.
This is by far the best Japanese restaurant in town, I highly recommend it the staff is super friendly and if you go to the bar you can see the chefs cooking definitely go here! Oh yeah and I highly recommend the fried octopus!
Some of the slowest service I have ever received. Somewhat taken back by the time in between seeing our waitress. We got our food at the same time we finally got out drinks. As for the food...would NOT recommend the chicken terriyaki, absolutely horrible. However the sushi was awesome, that was about the only positive takeaway. Will not be back.
The best sushi we've ever had, this coming from two experienced lovers of sushi 🙂 Small place, very cozy with a friendly staff and quick service. Decently priced too, especially considering the quality! Now that we have discovered this gem, it will definitely will be a must stop whenever we are in Fort Bragg!
Conveniently located in downtown fort Bragg on highway 1 and right next to the moo cow ice cream shop. The prices are reasonable and the food is good.I often get the sushi, Asian bowls are also quite good.Good parking next to this restaurant.Just a block from the very center of town and the Skunk train, the lot of things to see and do in downtown fort Bragg
Decent traditional style sushi, good service. Small menu, hole-in- the-wall neighborhood type of place.
Delicious food, great service, family friendly or date night.
Good quality food, if not the best. Sit inside, the patio smells bad. Good value for money and a good selection.
Delicious food, great service and mellow atmosphere every time I've eaten here.
One of the best spots I've been yet
Food was pretty good, but the service was slow. The ramen could have been a little more full, but my wife enjoyed it.
Had a very good experience in here with my wife. The food arrived quickly and the service is just excellent. Prices are fair.
Great food. Better service! For the price, you can't get any better!
The only Japanese restaurant in the North coast, this small dining establishment is understandably busy. We went on a Monday evening, and we had to wait 20 mins to have a seat at the counter. We were able to chat with Taka-san as he prepared local fresh uni (sea urchin) for us. He explained that he started out in Southern California, and only came to Fort Bragg because his friend ask his help to process sea urchins from the area. That was in the 80's, and he has stayed since the boom and bust of the fishing and lumber industry. He still gets local fresh sea urchin to serve his customers, and those are hidden gems if you can ever get your hands on one. Memorable meal with many stories that reflect the changes Fort Bragg has gone through over the decades.
Amazing selection of nigiri! Got to try some that I've never had before including sea urchin (locally harvested) and monk fish liver. Very nice staff, even when they're busy.
The menu and service were above my expectations. We absolutely loved the environment of this restaurant. Amazing spot to take the family out for lunch.
Great food and service with a smile!
I have never had a bad experience at this restruant. Sashimi grade fish and a very knowledgeable sushi chef.
We came to this spot for lunch. we heard about this restaurant from a lot of people. Well, we were not disappointed. the staff members were so friendly and we felt good. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we shall definitely come back again. Keep it up.
BEST SUSHI me and my Fiancé ate here on a whim and we’ve never been more pleased! The salmon on our Alaskan roll melts in your mouth because it’s so fresh! The Philadelphia roll has the perfect combination of cream cheese and salmon! The roll doesn’t fall apart when you pick it up and you can taste that all of the ingredients are fresh...will be coming here again!
Sushi is great. I personally like the Katsudon and the Chicken Katsu.
Food was really good but service was a miss.
